Why did I become a coach?

-
In the last 15 years as a career recruiter, I have seen the ups and downs in careers and the impact that disruptions have caused in people’s life.
-
People always want to be on the top of their game and look forward in life
-
The current COVID – 19 situation and the Global Financial Crisis in 2008 has made it more real for me, as I see people impacted and are caught unprepared.
-
Some people are very lucky we say, but I believe luck is something you can make it happen – however it is important to know yourself
-
The common thread that runs through all this is “Change”. The focus of my coaching is to help people through change/ transitions
-
With coaching I want to provide the opportunity to help discover your potential and help you seek clarity to make impactful decisions that are important in your career, business or life
Testimonials from past clients
“Guru has been a great coach, who is able to facilitate my thought processes to find alignment in matters with my own values. He is supportive and uses his intuition to challenge me appropriately to find clarity and take action”
“Guru has a passion for helping people – and it shows from how he lends a listening ear to his coachee. Guru further shows genuine concern and support towards helping the coachee work on their topics. I am grateful to Guru for patiently helping me to navigate through an issue that I was bogged down by.”
“I like our sessions and I feel it helps me a lot because I can candidly share and you get me to open up and after my sharing, you tend to summarize things in your own point of view + make observations which would make me think of things in a different way which helps me, as you would like to say , declutter my mind & in that process understand myself better.”
It is a great experience to meet a coach like Guru. From the first session when we met face to face, talking about my current situation, confusions and problems I had at that time, to the subsequent sessions we met through zoom, Guru showed his patience with understanding and providing useful advice.
Although at the beginning when I came to know Guru is not Chinese and is a Singaporean, I was afraid that I could not express myself clearly and we might have difficulty in communicating due to my poor spoken English. But Guru tried his best to let me share my worries, which let me feel comfortable and have confidence in talking with Guru.
In the five coaching sessions, I gained a lot from them, for example, through reading books out aloud I can train my spoken English and reading speed, therefore improving my spoken English and also I learnt about writing down my goals on a poster to help me focus on the things that I should do, etc.
I think I am so lucky to get such a good coach! Thanks a lot Guru for coaching me!
